BI 101: A PRIMER ON BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND DATA WAREHOUSING
Business intelligence and data warehousing (BI/DW) have become major business imperatives and when done right, can lead organizations to new insights and give them a competitive advantage. This presentation will provide an overview of BI/DW topologies, methodologies, and value propositions. You will learn what led to the wide adoption of these solutions as well as the importance of leading the BI/DW initiative from a business perspective. The major components of a BI solution will be discussed, as will the methods for defining requirements and delivering a solution.
Speaker Bio:
Jim Gallo has more than 25 years of information technology experience. He serves as both a senior data architect as well as a senior data warehouse architect, focusing his attention on delivering value through business intelligence and analytics. Gallo has delivered multiple business intelligence architectures and solutions to clients that included Fortune 1000 companies, the U.S. Department of Defense, state government agencies, and an international bank. He has several magazine publications dealing with data warehousing and business intelligence.
