Radio Frequency Identification. RFID. It's here. It works. The only remaining question is how can it help me?

Even if you don't know everything about it, you have probably heard about it. For many companies the current question is not, what is it - but how can we use it. Come and join us as we explore some of the many ways in which RFID can be help with productivity AND profitability! After a brief discussion of the technology's pros and cons, we will look into some of the numerous possible ways in which it can help your company to achieve a competitive advantage in today's tight economy. Bring some samples if you want - RFID readers will be made available to allow you to see if your product or problem can benefit from RFID.

For more than 40 years, the NASA Innovative Partnerships Program has facilitated the transfer of NASA technology to the private sector, benefiting global competition and the economy. The resulting commercialization has contributed to the development of commercial products and services in the fields of health and medicine, industry, consumer goods, transportation, public safety, computer technology, and environmental resources. Since 1976, Spinoff has featured between 40 and 50 of these commercial products annually. (http://www.sti.nasa.gov/tto/) This presentation will showcase some of the NASA technologies that have been "spun off" to become commercial products for the consumer in the past year, 2007. One of the most well known spinoffs would be Memory foam that was developed to improve seat cushioning and crash protection for airline pilots and passengers.
